Who this was forA B2B company with thousands of contacts it had already emailed once, and heard nothing back from.
The contacts were already in the database. They'd been sent a sequence once, when the timing was off, and never answered.
The usual read is that no reply means no. That's fair. Sending the same people more email can burn a domain and annoy a market. But a no reply from four months ago isn't a no today. It's a date.
Selection is a filter, never a hand picked list. A contact qualifies only if they were contacted before, their cooldown has passed, and none of nine disqualifiers fire. Those include an unsubscribe, a negative reply, a hard bounce, an active client, and a live sequence. Suppression and client exclusion lists apply on top.
Waves come from the cooldown date each contact already carries. So every wave's members are known in advance, and the calendar runs months ahead.
Each wave is one campaign. The difference between segments rides on each contact as a variable, not as a separate campaign. A nightly precheck runs before every launch.
Here's the awkward part. Most replies were automatic, mostly out of office. The human reply rate across all four waves is 0.62 percent. That's low for cold email.
But these were people who'd already said nothing. 13 deals came out of a list that was sitting idle.
One more thing we checked. The gap length didn't predict who replied. Repliers had the same spread of gaps as everyone else in their wave. Waiting longer didn't help. Being eligible again did.
Waves 5 to 8 are loaded and scheduled through November 12, 2026. Each one launches on its date if it passes the nightly precheck.
If you've got a list of contacts who never answered, send us the date of your last send. We'll tell you when they're eligible again.
